The key to decarbonization

The electrification of demand is the key to decarbonisation and will only be possible through distributed generation, the interoperability of smart applications for demand management and local policies for the energy transition.

The PNIEC (National Energy and Climate Plan 2021-2030) foresees the development of storage and demand management on a large scale, but not as distributed energy resources. For this reason:

• It is urgent to establish distributed generation objectives in order to develop DERs and create markets with flexible capacity.
• It is urgent to regulate the intelligent management of demand.
