📅 Today, January 28th, at 7:48, the Active Demand Response Service has been activated.
💻 From Bamboo Energy We have automatically activated our customers, lowering consumption from the managed units.
‼️ And most significantly, the first Virtual Physical Units! We have demonstrated that small, aggregated and automatically managed consumers help with system stability. Today we have activated to serve Electricity Grid consumers from 150 kW to 8 MW.
The causes of activation appear to be:
🍃 Very strong wind has forced some wind turbines to stop.
Cloudy day, which means very low photovoltaic production.
This has driven the price for tertiary reserve up to €1500/MWh.
☀️ Renewables and demand-side flexibility are two fundamental pieces of the energy transition; one cannot exist without the other, and at Bamboo Energy, we will continue working to make it possible.
