The project aims to reduce energy costs for large consumers (e.g. industry and tertiary buildings) by researching the viability of new business models associated with demand flexibility (e.g. price arbitrage, SRAD, tertiary markets, energy communities, virtual battery 2.0), process digitalisation (e.g. smart contracts, peer-to-peer, use of blockchain, photovoltaic surplus marketplace) and the optimisation of photovoltaic energy production with self-consumption. NexusFlex offers a comprehensive support service to exploit the flexibility of consumer assets, streamlining the audit process and facilitating consumer decision-making thanks to an automated system. This will be made possible by the development and adaptation of Bamboo's flexibility platform – based on artificial intelligence – for demand aggregation, flexibility management and optimised energy flow management.
