Nexus Onboarding

A CORUÑA & BARCELONA, SPAIN

Bamboo Energy and Nexus, the sixth largest energy retailer in Spain, are jointly designing a commercial strategy to enter new flexibility markets.

Over the last year, Spanish legislation has been updated, allowing consumers to participate in adjustment services through the figure of a demand aggregator. Nexus wants to offer new services to their customers and lower their electricity tariffs by taking advantage of this regulatory change. However, Nexus does not have the tools and expertise to technically and economically validate the possible participation of consumers in the flexibility markets.

  1. Bamboo’s team of flexibility experts provides training sessions to Nexus to navigate the opportunities arising from new regulations and co-create a business model for both Nexus and its customers.
  2. We connected two high-potential flexibility consumers through the Bamboo Platform to conduct real-world flexibility testing.
  3. Bamboo validates technically and economically the proposed solution.
  1. Nexus will start the process of pre-qualification with the Spanish System Operator to convert Nexus into a Demand Aggregator.
  2. The integration between Bamboo and the first Nexus customers has generated experience in preparation for the deployment of Nexus flexibility market services.
  3. The project will also help to a commercial strategy.
