2024 was a year of significant growth, innovation and international consolidation for Bamboo Energy. With the support of our partners, clients and expanding team, we continued driving the digitalisation of the energy sector and advancing the role of flexibility in Europe. These were the key milestones of the year:
Bamboo Energy strengthened its European presence with deployments in Belgium, France and Portugal:
Belgium: Prequalified with ELIA for reserve markets and launched a minute-level deviation–minimisation product for solar-plus-storage assets.
France: Operated industrial battery systems for optimisation and adjustment markets.
Portugal: Implemented industrial projects to maximise self-consumption and reduce energy costs, with adjustment services planned for early 2025.
2024 was marked by major recognitions and breakthroughs:
Selected for EIC Women Leadership, Google for Startups and the Huawei Accelerator 2024 in Paris.
Winners of the IDAE Startup Programme for business models supporting the energy transition.
Evaluated CO₂ reduction impacts through demand-side management in collaboration with IREC.
Bamboo Energy doubled its workforce to 30 professionals, restructured internal departments and expanded its training, mentoring and social benefits programmes—reinforcing that our greatest strength is our people.
Already working with more than 20 clients, representing 30% of the national electricity retail sector.
Expanded our dissemination efforts through webinars, participation in key industry events and engagement in national and European associations including smartEn and ENTRA.
